Soil to Soul: Transforming The Gambia Through AgriTech

At Taibah Schools, we believe that the future of Africa lies at the intersection of traditional wisdom and modern technology. Since my relocation to Lebanon in April 2025, we have intensified our efforts to integrate AgriTech into our core curriculum in Basse.

Data-Driven Farming

We are teaching our students that agriculture is no longer just about manual labor—it is about data. By utilizing the same analytical frameworks I’ve applied throughout my career as a business leader and entrepreneur, we are showing students how to monitor soil health, optimize water usage, and predict crop yields using digital tools.

The Entrepreneurial Mindset

This project isn’t just about growing food; it’s about growing businesses. Consistent with our focus on e-commerce and digital strategy, we are empowering students to view their harvest as a product. They are learning:

  • Inventory Management: Applying the same principles used in modern retail to track farm output.
  • Market Positioning: How to brand and sell their produce to support the school’s sustainability.
  • Automation: Using technology to simplify repetitive tasks, freeing up time for higher-level problem solving.

A Sustainable Legacy

Our goal is to create a model of self-sufficiency that can be replicated across The Gambia. By combining the discipline of my MBA training with the local expertise of our staff in Basse, we are ensuring that Taibah Schools remains a beacon of innovation for years to come.
